We have all had our fair share of bad tidings this year. It seems every time we turn around there is nothing good for our world to say, only doom, gloom and much more of the same.
But when you read the Christmas story, there is so much light and hope! You mean to say there is good news in 2020? Oh yes my friends! In a dark and dreadful world, Christ the Messiah was born! He is the light that illuminates every dark heart and makes known to us the mysteries of God!
What did the angels say when they came to the shepherds?
“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” Luke 2: 8-10
How do you like that? Not just good news, but good news of GREAT joy! And it’s not for a select few, it’s to all the world!
I don’t know what you have been through this year. Personally, it has been a dreadfully long and painful year for our family, but through it all I can see His hand weaving more grace, faith, and hope into the fabric of our lives! All these blessings were made possible because He came! Christ in His humility left heaven’s bliss to claim the world back to Himself! His love moved Him to be born in a manger and by His coming all men could be made free!
I don’t know about you, but that is GOOD NEWS!
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:17
Celebrate the Good News this Christmas, and be sure to not keep it to yourself! Brighten someone else’s day with the gift that keeps on giving!
